La vie étudiante en imagesHere you will find all the details of IFEW-2009, as well as resources relating to female entrepreneurship.

The IFEW Program is part of the Erasmus Multilateral ProjectWomen Entrepreneurs in the European Union (WEEU) which brings together partners from Higher Education Institutions, Chambers of Commerce and Private Enterprises from the United Kingdom, Lithuania and France.

In France, ADVANCIA will be organizing this program from September 21 to 28. It will provide several workshops for 12 women who are interested in International Entrepreneurship; an area focusing on the formation and functioning of innovative, proactive, and risk-taking organizations that cross national borders.

The objectives of the IFEW will enable women entrepreneurs, from all nationalities, to:
  • boost their entrepreneurial potential,
  • develop their business plan internationally,
  • and join the WEEU network in Paris.

It is a great starting point for women considering developing a business internationally or those who have an international project. It will be held in English.

All workshops are free and sponsored by the WEEU project.

Project overview

This Erasmus Multilateral Project involves the research, design and development of innovative approaches to learning new teaching methods for women entrepreneurs. In order to be successful, an entrepreneur must understand all aspects of operating a business. This program will discuss what women need to know about the life cycle of a business. There will be useful tips for aspiring entrepreneurs as well as for those who have already formed successful businesses.

The project focuses on researching and developing new materials relevant to women entrepreneurs in relation to business planning, social entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, reconciliation of private and professional life, and sustainable development as well as growing and exiting strategies. The new teaching methods and materials will be trialed in all three countries in September 2009 and then further developed during 2009–2010.

During one week, several business plan conferences and workshops will be held as well as round tables on various topics related to female entrepreneurship. Networking breakfasts and business lunches will be organized to meet women entrepreneurs and/or experts.

The teaching materials, new approaches developed and lessons learned during the project will be disseminated at national conferences in the United Kingdom and Lithuania and at an International Conference in Paris, France in September 2010. During this final conference, the Women’s Entrepreneurship in the European Union Consortium will be launched in order to create a sustainable network of institutions across Europe with specific interest and expertise in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and women’s entrepreneurship education.

The partners meet every three months to review research gathered, to exchange experience and perspectives, to consider the findings emerging from the focus groups and to agree actions for the next three months in relation to the topic areas. The location of the meetings rotates between the three partner countries in order to promote cultural understanding and the international perspective of the project.
